Dr. Josh Sandell
Dr. Josh Sandell, DC, DACBSP, ATC, CSCS, ICSSD is a sports medicine specialist and the Chief Clinical Officer at Orthology, Inc. He attended undergraduate school at University of Minnesota Duluth and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Exercise Physiology as well as Human Biology. He is a licensed Chiropractic Physician and has earned two post-graduate professional certifications in Sports Medicine (DACBSP) and (ICSSD). In addition, Dr. Sandell was also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He understands the inherent complexities of injuries and has pioneered a multidimensional, systematic approach to orthopedic injuries. This methodology remodels/modulates injured tissue, improves fascial compliance, restores arthokinematics, alters motor unit recruitment and synchronization, firing frequency, synergistic contribution, preactivation, refelx activity, and force-coupling relationships. This patented methodology is supported by over 5,000 current research articles and its eveidence-based outcomes have been shown to rapidly resolve injuries, restore function, and improve athletic performance. Given these unmatched outcomes, the largest health insurance company in the world has obtained his intellectual property and he now serves a corporation dedicated to improving orthopedic care delivery to patients nationally. Dr. Sandell has had the privilege to work at the USOC in Colorado Springs, CO and was selected as the official team USA chiropractor for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He currently serves as a sports medicine specialist to the Minnesota Vikings and advisor to some of the country’s foremost sports training facilities, clinics, NFL agencies, and health care organizations. His list of patients includes over 500 professional athletes from the NFL, CFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, MMA, PGA and Olympic athletes from around the country and the world. Most of all, he has dedicated himself as a father and enjoys spending every moment with his son Grant.
Dr. Justin Thielke
Dr. Justin Thielke, DC, CSCS is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), who graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2005. He attended undergraduate school at Dakota State University in Madison, SD and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology for Info Systems. Dr. Thielke utilizes a functional approach as to how the spine and the extremities are truly integrated when an injury occurs with extensive knowledge of soft tissue and repetitive strain injuries. He strongly believes in an integrated approach to health care that combines the effectiveness of several disciplines to provide a more rounded approach to health care. He has a diverse clinical approach by combining chiropractic, exercise rehabilitation, soft tissue mobilization, and functional performance enhancement. Dr. Thielke educates his patients on how to stay healthy, active, and to avoid injuries. He strives to deliver immediate and lasting relief from pain and enhanced quality of life.
Dr. Renata Evertz
Dr. Renata Evertz, DC, CCSP is a licensed chiropractor who graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University with her chiropractic degree. Prior to completing her doctorate of chiropractic, Dr. Evertz received her bachelor degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Bemidji State University. She has completed her postgraduate studies becoming a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and is always expanding her knowledge of nutrition and rehabilitation. Dr. Evertz is committed to providing specialized, individualized, and innovative care to correct orthopedic injuries. The goal of treatment is to provide long-lasting outcomes that restore function and improve athletic performance. Her treatment approach follows Dr. Josh Sandell's integrated methodology supported by years of research. Dr. Evertz understands the importance of injury education to empower patients to take charge of their health. She has had opportunities to present the topic of injury prevention to corporations in the Twin Cities and is available for speaking engagements. Dr. Evertz is excited to be a part of the Spine & Sports team and to work with her co-workers to provide leading care in sports medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys time with family and all the great outdoor activities Minnesota has to offer.
Dr. Kaitlin Blank
Dr. Kaitlin Blank, DC, CCSP is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic who graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University. Dr. Blank attended both the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Science. She completed her postgraduate studies to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). Dr. Blank provides each patient with a specifically tailored treatment plan to each individual’s symptoms. With a combination of chiropractic therapy, soft tissue mobilization, functional performance and exercise rehabilitation this unique integrative approach provides each patient with a faster and safer return to the activities they love.
Dr. Crystal Neal
Dr. Crystal Neal is a Doctor of Chiropractic who graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in March 2011. She attended undergraduate school at Boise State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Sciences with a minor in Psychology. Dr. Crystal is trained in several soft tissue mobilization techniques and utilizes an individual approach when working with her patients. Dr. Crystal includes chiropractic techniques, functional assessment, exercise rehab, nutrition, and massage to help patients achieve ultimate health. She has a passion for nutrition and loves working with athletes, whether professional or weekend warriors. Dr. Crystal specializes in overuse injuries in athletes and understands the importance of a quick and full recovery. Whole body health is a reachable goal and she is excited to help her patients achieve and maintain that lifestyle.
Dr. Jon Graves
Dr. Jon Graves, DC, is a Doctor of Chiropractic, and graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University. He previously attended Weber State University in Ogden, UT where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. Since joining the clinic he has been working alongside Dr. Sandell in treating the NFL players who come into the clinic. He is dedicated to understanding the nature of orthopedic injuries and has spent significant time doing scientific research supporting the treatment methodology developed by Dr. Sandell. In the process of doing this research, Dr. Graves has gained a solid understanding of the science supporting this methodology. He is therefore determined to provide the most effective treatment possible for his patients. His use of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue mobilizations, functional performance evaluations, and rehabilitation programs allows him to approach these injuries in a well-rounded, systematic way.
Dr. Thomas Olsen
Dr. Thomas Olsen earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in April of 2013. He attended the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse for his undergraduate studies where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry in December of 2008. Dr. Olsen has spent the majority of his time at Spine and Sports Institute working closely with Dr. Sandell in treating professional athletes. As a lifelong athlete, Dr. Olsen has a passion for working with athletes of all levels and he understands the commitment it takes to be successful. He has been trained in a variety of soft-tissue and joint mobilization techniques that combined with comprehensive functional assessments and individualized home rehab programs provide a unique and integrative approach to the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal injuries. Dr. Olsen believes patient education is of the upmost importance and he prides himself on giving each patient the tools necessary to make a quick and safe return to a healthy life.
